This position is located at the Mental Health Division, Branch Health Clinic Iwakuni Japan. Services include a full range of clinical diagnostics and treatment services to eligible children birth through 21 years of age with developmental, emotional, and behavioral disorders which have a negative impact on the child's ability to benefit from their educational program.

First priority consideration will be given to preference eligible veterans.
Second priority consideration will be given to military spouse and family member preference eligibles residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.

A typical day in the life of a Clinical Child Psychologist!
Execute a full range of clinical psychological diagnostic, strategies, procedures, and intervention services for the Educational Developmental and Intervention Services (EDIS) for children birth through 21 years of age with developmental, emotional, behavioral disorders which have a negative impact on a child's ability to benefit from their educational program.**
Participate as an authoritative resource expert on the EDIS interdisciplinary evaluation team, providing consultation to medical, clinical providers and school personnel on complex pediatric mental health cases. **
Work as an independent clinician, administer, score, and interpret psycho-diagnostic tests used for diagnosing mental, personality, behavioral disorders for children and adolescents with complex interpersonal developmental disorders.**
Provide direct therapy, consultation, and co-teaching models of services to children with identified psychotherapy needs as indicated by evaluation and on the Individualized Educational Plan or on an Individualized Family Service Plan.**
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Department of Defense Dependents Schools educational personnel. Provide consultation and guidance to Department of Defense Dependents Schools and other staff personnel concerning the psychological functioning of students.

BASIC REQUIREMENT for Clinical Psychologist :All applicants must meet the following basic requirement:
Completion of all of the requirements for a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology (Ph.D, Psy.D, or equivalent) from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited university or professional school directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. AND
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS: This position has selective placement factors: Must hold a current State license in clinical psychology from a U.S. State, territory or district ANDmust possess an one year American Psychological Association (APA) accredited clinical internship OR APA accredited postdoctoral residency OR fellowship ORhave attained board certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) OR Clinical Psychologist commissioned/employed in the Navy prior to March 27, 2015 who has completed an one year clinical internship. Failure to document or provide evidence of selective placement factors in your resume will result in an ineligible rating.
