Dell Envr Health & Safety Advisor in Kanagawa, Japan

Position: EHS Advisor Reports to: Sr. EHS manager for Dell Asia Pacific

Job Scope:

This position is responsible for the coordination of development and implementation of EH&S management systems in Dell Japan offices. Objectives include ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and Dell global standards, improving EH&S performance, and implementing relevant EH&S action plan s which support the business group objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Establish site Health & Safety leadership teams and drive meeting agendas.

  • Implement incident management system with reporting, investigation and follow up.

  • Document and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and standards.

  • Conduct EHS review of office operation , maintenance activities and others .

  • Develop and promote the EH&S Management Systems.

  • Promote EH&S awareness and EH&S culture including communication and dissemination of EH&S information.

  • Provide guidance on EH&S policy, objective, standards and legal requirements.

  • Deploy office ergonomics program.

  • Liais e with external parties regarding EH&S, including government authorities, legislative bodies and industry groups.

  • Ensure execution of EH S audit programs. Participate in the audits and follow up actions.

  • Arrange and provide EH&S training courses (including in EH&S orientation to new staff).

  • Ensure that there is an effective emergency response plan in place and personnel understand and are familiar with their roles in the plan.

  • Coordinate industrial doctor and health worker’s visits and make related communications ・

  • As a member of CMT team of Japan, should lead and provide proactive support for Japan DELL/EMC employee Safety Confirmation Process (SECOM) at any emergency cases.

  • As a core member of JST ( 自衛消防隊 ), cooperate with other members to protect and ensure safety of all Japan employees.

  • Request of annual funding request and monthly budget management of all EHS related items and activities in Japan.

    Experience and skills required.

    **The candidate should have Certified class-2 health officer

    **The candidate preferably has the certificate for disaster protection manager

    **A Bachelor or above in health, safety or Engineering field of study.

    **The candidate has at least three years of health or safety working experience.

    **Candidate should be familiar with Japan and US business cultures and have strong communications skills in English.

    **Successful candidate will be an action oriented leader with consensus building, conflict management and strong interpersonal skills.

    **Native Japanese w/ Business English required
