BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Strategic Marketing Manager - Pharmaceutical Systems in To, Japan



Marketing Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic marketing programs for Pharmaceutical Systems including Pre-filled Syringes(PFS) and Safety Devices. Specifically, the Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive Up & Down stream marketing plans that drive business growth to maximize revenues and profits, and increase BD brand awareness. This includes managing the marketing and business operations of products, including product promotion, PFS benefit campaigns, sales forecasting, local market evaluation and Voice of Customer (VOC) collection.

In addition, the Marketing Manager performs technical sales support, market communication, exhibit presence, pricing and lifecycle management, competitive surveillance.


  • Provide strategic and analytical leadership to develop and execute innovative marketing & growth strategy forPFSs& Safety Devices

  • Analyze complex interrelated market data and environmental scans to proactively identify, evaluate and recommend new business opportunities and enhancements

  • Work closely with the Sales Teamconsists ofKey Account Managers(KAM)andaSales Manager in identifying key trends and critical concepts and translating them into the marketing strategy for the business. In addition,supports the KAMs to drive new products / projects at the customer end

  • Partner with global marketing team to cascade down global marketing plans and obtain support to develop and executeJapanesemarketing plans

  • Develop close relationshipswithcustomers andstakeholders including KOLs to identify unmet needs in the market

  • Beresponsible for helping in preparation of annual budgets with phasing required reports and forecasting support and present them or recommend their adoption to the Business Leadership

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to develop business plans, forecastsetc.for new and existing products

  • Managesfollowingmarketing activitiesfor the Japanese market:

  • Market research marketenvironment,market opportunities, competitive information, etc.

  • Market sensing customer needsandrequirements

  • Pricing per product per market per segment,value selling

  • Marketing communications advertising, promotionsthrough trade shows, conventions, conferences, publications etc.



  • Bachelor s Degree, MBApreferred


  • Minimum ofyears experience in(strategic)marketing with international exposure. Sales experience is also preferred

  • Minimum5years of Healthcare industry experiencewith reasonable domain understanding of pharmaceutical industry. Vaccine/ Biotech market knowledge is preferred

  • Strong customer focus, strategic thinking, and innovative/creative idea generationGlobal mindset, inclusive behavior and organizational savvy (how to work well in a matrix organization and build collaborative partnership)

  • Analytical expertise in understanding complex issues and ability to simplify

  • Experiences ofworking across countriesand with worldwide function

  • Proven leadership ability to influence, engage and mobilize people

  • Strong knowledge in finance with financial modeling experience

  • Excellent skills inEnglishwritten and verbal communication
