Harris Geospatial Solutions is seeking a motivated sales engineer with technical support and software development skills to assist and support the Harris Japan sales team in developing and closing sales. This position provides both pre and post sales technical expertise by reviewing and resolving technical problems of a moderately complex nature to support purchase decisions.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Answers technical product usage questions for Account Managers, Prospects and Customers.
Performs detailed product demonstrations and product prototypes for qualified pre and post sales activities.
Supports the technical execution of marketing activities such as user conferences, seminars and webinars.
Schedules and delivers presentations at general seminars and customer meetings in assigned territory.
Creates go to market materials such as presentations, videos and whitepapers.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Acts as a technical liaison between Sales, Engineering and US Technical Support teams.
Initiates outbound calls to Customers as directed by the Sales team.
Assists Account Managers with the development of Account strategies.
Ability to identify, qualify and solve difficult technical sales support problems.
Delivers product training classes in Tokyo office or on customer site.
Occasional travel to customers, regional society meetings and events is expected.
Minimum Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Remote Sensing, GIS, Computer Science; or equivalent experience
Three to five years of technical product support experience.
Four years of software development experience.
Working knowledge ENVI, Python, Enterprise technologies and supported computer environments and platforms (e.g. Windows, Mac, Linux, and server/enterprise platforms such as AWS)
First language Japanese and EIKEN Jitsuyo Eigo Gino Kentei Grade 1, with strong oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Remote Sensing Software, GIS Systems and Geospatial Market needs.
Self-motivated, high energy and goal oriented.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position is generally performed in a standard office setting.
Travel may be required up to 30-40% of the time.
Hours of work will coincide with territory.
