Overview

The Japan Customer Relations team sits within International Markets at MasterCard

Customer Relations enhances partnership with customers by delivering services that jointly drive volume, share, and revenue growth

The Account Manager will strengthen our relationship with customers by focusing on customized payment solutions and comprehensive consulting support

He or she will leverage the strong MasterCard brand, technology, and operations & risk platforms to deliver bottom-line results for customers

Role

Take clear initiative and lead significant change to improve efficiency and regain market position, based upon deep knowledge and insight of the industry

Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, and manage all MasterCard interaction with them

Lead and manage the Customer Relations team

Be an enthusiastic role model to engage and empower customers to take accountability for being ambassadors of the MasterCard franchise

Promote the value proposition of our products and services through customer engagement

Take accountability for growing MasterCard revenues and profits with customers

Identify opportunities for enhancing MasterCard€™s relationship with customers through pro-active selection and implementation of products and services that grow their revenues, while meeting strategic MasterCard product objectives

Actively work to understand and address customer needs and challenges; be open and aggressive to develop new ideas and think €˜out of the box€™

Strengthen customer relationships by partnering with business development to present and sell products and services with a higher level of value, trust, and respect

Engage and coordinate efforts with additional customer-facing MasterCard functions including Product Sales, Customer Marketing, Advisors Consulting, Regional Implementation, Strategic Operations, and Processing

Achieve revenue and profitability targets for the customer relationship

Maintain focus, professionalism, and respect with external and internal stakeholders while navigating potential barriers: language, logical/emotional opposition, corporate culture differences, historical context, and personal preferences

Lead the customer planning process - incorporating input from internal partners - including revenue targets and resource requirements

Provide required data to senior segment management for segment and resource planning

Coordinate and lead efforts in consulting services, in conjunction with Advisors

All About You

Extensive sales and consultation experience in the Financial industry

Ability to identify and capture opportunities for increasing MasterCard revenue and profitability

Strong customer management and relationship-building skills

Proven people management skills

Advanced presentation and proposal skills

Strong negotiation skills

Project management

Analytical ability

Advanced written and verbal communication skills

Strong conflict management and problem resolution skills

University Degree preferred

Japanese fluency required; fluency in English
