Role Summary/Purpose

The Solution Architect-Software & Analytics will lead multiple initiatives and assignments with broad scope and high impact to the Power Generation Services business and our customers. This individual will be part of an entrepreneurial team that is focused on defining and delivering commercial software and analytics products for power generating customers, as part of GE's industrial internet initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities

• Drive the translation of a customer's complex business problems into innovative technology solutions by designing complete solutions that leverage various software services components

• Research possible solutions for solving a customer's business problems, perform an analysis of alternatives and lead the recommendation to a solution

• Develop technology roadmap for assigned domains that reflect the company's operational / application needs while adhering to standards that promote efficient cost effective technology choices

• Coordinate and develop systems integration designs, including high-level and detailed system, application and technology diagrams

• Author and deliver network designs, statements of work (SOWs) and technical project plans incorporating service and program management activities to support sales cycle

• Align technology solutions with the technical architecture, operational processes and lifecycle processes

• Ensure solution fit with the current and planned enterprise architecture and standards

• Create solution architecture documentation throughout the project lifecycle of the solutions

• Ensure that the solution infrastructure is supportable and can be transitioned smoothly into production support organizations

• Maintain effective working relationship with product management and engineering leaders, stakeholders, users, vendors and partners to integrate solution into overall strategic objectives

• Partner with shared technical and business resources (M&D, ISS, SWCoE, IT etc.) to effectively deliver and support solutions

• Work as a business partner with customers to evaluate / improve business processes and arrive at mutual, cost effective solutions for business process efficiency and productivity

• Lead in the evaluation / implementation of third party software solutions

• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies

• Be responsible for thought leadership, continuous improvement and innovation in the specified business domain

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering or Engineering from an accredited College or University

• Minimum of 7 years in a customer / client facing technical role (Pre / Post Sales, Sales Engineering, Consulting, Solutions Architecture, Service Delivery, etc.).

• Experience with commercial software & analytics

• Experience with delivering commercial platforms for industrial business in energy markets

• Experience with plant operations and management systems, trading & risk management systems or energy market systems

• Experience working with IPP’s, power generating entities or load servicing entities

• Demonstrated and verifiable track record of prior successful customer engagements

• Outstanding technical & thought leadership skills

• Passionate about driving change / influence across cross functions

• Demonstrated ability to lead in highly matrixed environment

• Ability to translate strategic direction into tactical deliverables

• Experience working with program management methodologies (i.e. Agile, SDLC)

• Strong technical (software & infrastructure) skills

• Strong communication with ability to explain complex technical challenge
