Job OverviewQUALCOMM CDMA Technologies (QCT) is the largest provider of 3G chipset and software technology in the world, with chipsets shipped to more than 50 customers and powering the majority of all 3G devices commercially available. QCT partners with nearly 60 3G network operators around the globe and has the largest CDMA engineering team in the wireless industry.
Customers develop lots of phones based on our various chipsets. We provide excellent support on their development phases to enable their successful phone business. QCT Japan office mainly supports not only Japanese Mobile phone venders but also foreign customers. We also work closely with Japanese Operators.
We consider new IMS/VoLTE software engineer to cover large demands for technical support. To shorten time to markets, we need to solve issues in the development phase by fixing software, providing excellent solutions, publishing documents, filling out gaps between customers and development team and so on. The Data technology especially IMS/VoLTE is the key technologies and is still being developed. The technologies are getting more complex day by day. This position is very challenging.
The role requires Code release, documentation, bug fixing, on-site debug and provide technical trainings, as well as developing subset of new features requested by the customer. Sometimes, travels in Japan and in U.S. and other countries (mainly Asia) are required.
Work on Case management system that is used for customer supports.
Answer customers inquiries about documents, IMS specs, operator specs, our implementations and so on.
Investigate issues reported from customers by analyzing logs and/or debugging software using call boxes.
Work closely with customers and operators.
Visit customers site or operators lab to debug issues and verify fixes of the issues.
Provide customer trainings related to IMS/VoLTE/Interworking ( and newly introduced features.
Minimum QualificationsSpeaking Japanese fluently is mandatory for the phone calls and meetings w/ Japanese customers
Requires the ability to analyze the issue, solve problems, communicate clearly, organize effectively and document work thoroughly.
3 years or more experience in LTE mobile communications system, protocols, and engineering processes.
Requires some extent of knowledge of LTE (3GPP) and data communication technologies, such as TCP/IP, UDP, SIP, RTP and so on.
Requires C programming skill, in addition to that, C++ and Perl skills are expected.
Requires knowledge in PC/Windows or Linux machine or both.
Familiarity with LTE test equipment / call boxes and data analyzer such as Wire Shark and so on.
Good team worker but also able to work without direct supervision.
English ability both in speaking and writing, TOEIC score 700 or above
Education RequirementsBachelor's of Engineering in Computer Science/Computer Engineering
