We are now looking for highly independent HR Business Partner (HRBP) at Fulfillment Center (FC) located in Kitahiroshima city, Hokkaido. Our HRBP is expected to be not only strategic business partner but also employee advocate. Therefore, your key client is both management and associate in Operations *1. From the perspective of your influence, depending on your expertise, you can contribute to not only your FC but also JPFC network (more than 10FCs in Japan) through HR standardization.

HRBP is responsible for all levels/areas of HR activities such as performance management, organizational development and effectiveness, people development, recruiting, and HR services, which are normally structured by global and regional HR. HRBP should provide facilitation, coaching, instruction, and assistance to our internal customers through these programs. On the other hand, as ad-hoc basis, HRBP also needs to handle employee relations (ER) matters such as performance and behavioral issues. As an approach for HR activities and ER, we welcome your hands-on approach with effective communication skill. Additionally, as high level HRBP, you should proactively identify areas to improve for our client and make a strategy, roadmap, and solution.

Successful HRBP candidates can be logical & analytical, pursue hands-on approach, and have theoretical HR knowledge & skill such as HR strategy, Japanese labor law, organizational development & effectiveness, people development, phycology and compensation & benefit. Additionally, experience in similar industries such as manufacturing, logistics, or retail operations would help you to catch up the speed of our growth. The fundamental similarity of such industry is employee structure; hourly part-time, Non-exempt full time, Exempt full time, temporary staff agency workers, 3rd party workers, etc. It would be benefit for you to understand the management layer and the importance of engagement through your professional experience.

Our HRBP has wide coverage in HR functions. Therefore, we are now focusing on HRBP diversity. Ideal candidate can have working experience as HR Generalist or HR Specialist experiencing various HR functions. However, a candidate experiencing a few specific areas and looking for opportunity to be professional HRBP is also welcomed. (e.g. ex-HR consultant and ex-HR outsourcer) We believe that ex-HR consultant and HR outsourcer can contribute to HR strategy/ HR infrastructure in order for our HR operation to be scalable.

Regarding academic background, the ideal candidate can have a bachelor's degree. An advanced degree, MBA and/or professional certifications are not mandatory but a plus. Native level Japanese is required. However, business English level is mandatory.

  • 5+ years minimum in HR experience required

  • Logical thinking and analytical skill: Logical thinking & analytical skill and HR knowledge such as HR strategy, organizational effectiveness, people development, team building, and phycology would help you a lot. In addition to these, your hands-on approach must be appreciated.

    • Sound knowledge & skill of Japanese standard labor practice: able to coach team members about the practice with background reason “why” so that team members able to handle issues by themselves. This is based on the labor knowledge and experience.

    • Communication/interpersonal skill. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation and facilitation. Able to establish trust in all level of employees, across the organization.

    • Accountability/Credibility: Always perform highly accountable work style. Strong sense of confidentiality, attention to detail and compliance.

    • Project management skill: Ability to coordinate projects. Demonstrated ability to put together project plans and execute effectively.

    • IT/Office Tool user: Independent user of IT infrastructure such as peoplesoft, payroll, ERP, Oracle, Microsoft office products. Do not have to know all listed above but already know the tools and have the capability to analyze data.

  • Native Japanese + Business level English

  • People management experience will be a plus.

  • International company experience will be a plus.

  • Other function experience such as sales and marketing will be a plus.
